Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Ukitz (ukitz.com) provides free browser-based tools for PDF editing, image processing, file conversion, temporary file transfer, and developer utilities. The service is operated by Nafees Shaikh, an individual software engineer based in Mumbai, India.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Ukitz, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

3. Permitted Use

You may use Ukitz to process files and data that you own or have explicit authorisation to process. Permitted uses include:

• Compressing, merging, splitting, and converting your own documents
• Editing and converting images you own or have rights to use
• Generating QR codes, invoices, and other outputs for personal or business use
• Transferring files to recipients with their consent
• Using developer utilities for legitimate development and testing

4. Prohibited Use

You must not use Ukitz to:

• Process files you do not own or do not have authorisation to process
• Remove password protection from PDFs you do not own
• Upload files containing illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), content promoting terrorism, or material that infringes intellectual property rights
• Attempt to access, probe, or disrupt the infrastructure, APIs, or security of Ukitz
• Use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to bulk-process files in a manner that degrades service for other users
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Ukitz tools
• Resell or commercially redistribute the Ukitz service without written permission

5. File Processing and Privacy

Files uploaded for processing are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Files are processed in isolated ephemeral sessions and automatically deleted within 30 minutes (15 minutes for the File Transfer feature). You are responsible for downloading your processed output before the session expires.

Ukitz makes no guarantee of availability. Do not use Ukitz as your sole means of processing critical or time-sensitive documents without maintaining your own backup copies.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain all intellectual property rights in the files you upload and process. By uploading a file, you grant Ukitz a limited, temporary licence to process it solely for the purpose of providing the requested tool output. This licence expires when the processing session ends and the file is deleted.

The Ukitz name, logo, interface design, and code are the intellectual property of Nafees Shaikh / Ukitz. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute them without written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Ukitz is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times
• Processing results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose
• Files will be retained for the full 30-minute window in the event of server failure

Always keep a copy of your original file. Ukitz is not responsible for data loss resulting from service interruptions.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Nafees Shaikh / Ukitz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use Ukitz — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the use of Ukitz shall not exceed INR 1,000 (approximately USD 12).

9. Third-Party Links and Integrations

Ukitz may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of those third parties.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Ukitz after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
